“Holy Conversations” Small Groups Forming
Be a part of a small group that will discuss our diverse faith traditions and beliefs as we prepare for the Lenten season. An introductory session will be held the week of January 29 and then small groups will meet once a week.

Thursday, January 24:
Over the Rainbow Bible Study Group, 3:30-5:30 pm. This group, which meets at the church, discusses a contemporary news item and how it relates to what the Bible teaches us. Open to all, no prior attendance is necessary.

We are pleased to have our transitional pastoral team in place for the next several months. Rev. Dr. Carol Trissell, Senior Pastor of our sister church, MCC of Greater Saint Louis (MCCGSL), has been appointed our consulting pastor. She is with us once a month and she is working specifically with our Board of Directors during the three to four month transition period. Gina Durbin and Kelly Durbin, student clergy from MCCGSL, are pastoring our congregation the other three Sundays a month. Their primary focus is worship, pastoral care, and working with the Ministry Council.
Rev. Dr. Carol and Gina and Kelly Durbin are providing primary pastoral care when they are with us during the weekends. On the weekend each month Rev. Dr. Carol Trissell is in Topeka, she will be available for pastoral care appointments, particularly focusing on grace and renewal. She is currently scheduled to be in Topeka January 20-22, February 17-19, and March 23-25. Gina and Kelly Durbin is available for pastoral care appointments the three weekends a month they are in Topeka. Gina and Kelly are attending Eden Seminary and have a wide experience in many areas as a result of their previous employment and their positions at MCC of Greater Saint Louis. Board of Director Member Mel Martin will be scheduling pastoral care appointments, and may be reached at gosaspursgo@gmail.com.
On weekdays Rev. Janice Levering, our MCC credentialed chaplain, will be providing primary pastoral care. Please email pastor@mcctopeka.org and your email will be automatically distributed to Rev. Janice, Gina and Kelly. For emergencies, Rev. Janice can be reached at 785-845-2585—please leave a message so she can return your call.
In addition, there is a new way for you to communicate with the Board of Directors — email board@mcctopeka.org and your message will be forwarded to the entire Board. Also everyone is invited to the monthly Board meetings, on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room of the church.
