About MCC of Topeka
MCC Topeka includes people of all ages, races, and sexual orientations. We come from a variety of faith traditions and denominations, including Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Assembly of God, Latter-Day Saints, Lutherans, Episcopalians, or no religion at all. We embrace this diversity and strive to learn more about God by sharing.
Our Sunday morning Worship Service includes a variety of Christian music from traditional hymns to contemporary. During the service we sing, pray, engage our children through a brief children’s sermon, continue to be blessed by our dynamic choir and music ministry, listen to an adult sermon preached by either our Pastor or our staff of volunteer clergy, and celebrate Holy Communion.

Our Children’s Ministry Team is always a buzz with activity! Each week during the worship service, the children are invited to the front and are engaged in a brief children’s experience. Next they are invited to attend Sunday school. Our outside children’s garden is a constant reminder of God’s presence! The children go on excursions which recently included a cookout and fishing trip at Lake Shawnee. The children of MCC regularly hold fundraisers (such as their recent cupcake sale) and the proceeds benefit the Mother of Peace Orphanage in Zimbabwe Africa (www.MotherofPeace.net)
MCC Topeka’s Hospitality Ministry Team is always busy coordinating the refreshments before and after service. They also coordinate our 2nd Sunday Potluck which is a time when our Social Hall is usually filled with great food, friendship and fun! Visitors & Guests are invited and need not bring a dish. Our hospitality team coordinates other meals for special occasions and also the many community events which are held often.
MCC Topeka’s Congregation Care Team does exactly that! They provide love and care to our family of faith and anyone from the community who is in need. They follow up with phone calls to first time visitors, send out birthday and get well cards, coordinate hospital/home visit for those in need, coordinate food preparation and delivery for home meals for the sick, HIV/Aids support, and prayer requests.
MCC Topeka’s Outreach Team is our liaison with our surrounding community including Doorstep, Interfaith of Topeka, Center for Justice & Peace, Concerned Citizens for Topeka, Topeka Aids Project (TAP), Mainstream Voices of Faith, and the Mother of Peace Orphanage.
MCC Topeka’s Worship Team coordinates ushers, acolytes, readers, sound technicians, communion holders/servers and all the other volunteers whose ministry is coordinating the weekly worship services.
